Know Before You Go: Emery Road Access During Works UPDATED VERSION

THIS IS THE UPDATED VERSION AS I’VE ACTUALLY BEEN ABLE TO SPEAK TO PEOPLE ON THE STREET ABOUT WHAT’S GOING ON.
Hi all, sorry for the bad news, but Emery Road is set to have roadworks for the next three days (3rd December – 5th December). In typical fashion, we’ve only found out today about it. Having spoken to the company involved, they’ve assured us that the work will be done “sectionally”. This means that only part of the road will be closed at any one time. This means absolutely nothing as they’re tearing up most of the road it seems.
They’re starting from the Broomhill Road end of Emery Road (the mini roundabout next to the McDonald’s) and working their way down the road. This mean that you should still be able to access the studios from the Bonville Road end of Emery Road for the 3rd December. After that, it’s anyone’s guess, as it’ll all depend on how much they get done each day. We’ll keep everyone updated and if needs be, we’ll open up the Bonville Road entrance, so there’ll always be a route into the studios.
We’d recommend coming in via Bonville Road, where possible and if you’re coming via Broomhill Road, then turn right down either Dixon or Clothier Road before you get to the mini roundabout where the roadworks are starting. If you don’t know those roads, then check the map below and you’ll see that they’re the two roads above Emery Road in the Brislington Business Estate.
They did say that you should be able to come in via Emery Road, you can just ignore the signs and you’ll have to rally past all the works going on. I wouldn’t recomend this if you’re coming in during their works hours (8am – 6pm), as there’s no way of knowing what part of the road is safe to drive on.
Please allow as much time as humanly possible to get to your rehearsal, as it’s likely to be a real swine to get in and out of the area for the next few days. Please also tell all your bandmates as well, we want everyone primed and ready for this joy.
To be fair, this is the first road closure we’ve had in 10 years and seeing all the works that seem to be going on on a near-permanent basis, we’ve gotten off lightly this far.
