We’re looking for a friendly and reliable Part Time Studio Assistant to help with the day-to-day running of Firebird Studios.
## About the role
This is a permanent position with variable hours – minimum 10 hours per week. You’ll mainly be working evenings (6:30pm – 11:30pm), with some daytime and weekend shifts as needed.
Our studio is open:
– Monday-Thursday: 10am – 11pm
– Friday: 10am – 6pm
– Saturday: 9am – 4pm
– Sunday: 10am – 10pm
## About us
Firebird studios is one of the best rehearsal studios in Bristol. We have 6 rehearsal rooms plus The Engine Room (our professional rehearsal space). We provide everything musicians need – guitar amps, bass amps, drum kits, keyboards, PA systems, microphones, and pianos. As well as having some of the best rooms and equipment, our coffee is second to none and we have great parking. What’s not to like?!
## What you’ll be doing
– Welcoming customers and helping them get set up
– Managing bookings and schedules
– Moving equipment between rooms and keeping it maintained
– General cleaning and studio maintenance
– Handling payments and basic admin
– Locking up and security duties
– Making sure we stay compliant with health and safety
– You’ll also be running our “cafe”, so some solid barista skills would be great as well.
– There’ll also be some basic soldering, and electronic work diagnosing equipment faults and fixing cables.
## What we’re looking for
**You must have:**
– Experience working with customers
– Be comfortable working on your own
– Good phone manner and communication skills
– Be organised and methodical
– Self-motivated with good problem-solving skills
– Keen to learn new things
– Able to lift equipment (amps, drum kits, etc.)
– Be available for weekday evenings, weekends, and the occasional daytime shifts from 3pm onwards (this would most likely be an extension to the evening shift at opposed to a separate shift, but never say never)
**It would be great if you:**
– Are a musician with gigging experience
– Have some music industry knowledge
– Are barista trained
– Have worked in a rehearsal studio environment before
– Have some knowledge of electrical equipment and how to diagnose faults

An Enhanced DBS check would be useful as children are sometimes around, but it’s not essential. We can sort this out for you if needed.
